Long drivers set to smash record

Surrey’s Gatton Manor Golf Club is running a golf event with a difference on Saturday June 21st – the ‘Longest Drive, Longest Hole and Longest Day’ competition.

Most of the fun and games will take place at the course’s monster par 5 17th hole which at 645 yards off the new back tips, is reputed to be one of the longest holes in the south east.

If any competitor on the day manages to out-drive the penultimate hole’s current driving record of 309 yards, set by Sky Sports pundit and former Tour professional Richard Boxall, they will bag a top prize…dinner, B&B at Gatton Manor plus a round of golf at the venue.

Entry is open to members and visitors who play a round on the day, but those who are unable to play a full round, are welcome to join the action at the 17th tee between 12pm- 3pm to try their luck. In return a voluntary contribution to the Captain’s Charity (Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation) is requested.
