Hot tips for Fantasy League

The Winter Fantasy League is finally upon us and everyone will be keen to get a fast start in the hunt for the £10,000 prize pool, but which players are going to be the big-performers at this week’s HSBC Champions?

Each week I’m going to be picking out six stars with the potential to score big so without any more further ado here are the first half-dozen to keep an eye on in Shaghai…

Phil Mickelson ($6.0m)
The world number 2 is the defending champion in Shaghai this week and he’ll be keen to get back into the swing of things quickly after a 3 month lay-off after the USPGA.

Robert Karlsson ($3.5m)
The Swede is in a rich vein of form having just claimed the European Tour Order of Merit with a run of 11 top-10 finishes in 16 events.

Martin Kaymer ($1.6m)
A tied-second finish at the season-ending Volvo Masters last week topped off a good year for the 23-year-old as he finished eighth on the Order of Merit.

Hennie Otto ($1.1m)
He may not be the best-known South African on Tour but after a solid 2008 he may be a dark horse for a break through year on the way to Dubai.

Liang Wen-Chong ($0.9m)
Monty may not have liked Liang’s invitation to last year’s Masters but the Chinese player has moved above the Scot in the world rankings off the back of a fine run of form in Asia.

Peter Hanson ($1.3m)
There are a host of Swedes making their mark on the Euroepan Tour and T7 and T13 finishes in his last two outings demonstarte a man on good form and getting better.

Make sure you sign up and submit your team before midnight on Wednesday 5 November to be eiligible for the first event.
