Oliver Farr – Ludlow GC – Handicap +3 – 68

  • “Tough conditions but I holed some great 20 footers and everything just flowed”.
  • “It’s a shoot out format so you just have to go for everything”.
  • His Father Graham Farr is a Pro and is his coach.
  • Oliver plays for the Welsh Mens Team, 4th in order of Merit coming off the back of a win at Royal St Davids in the Gold Cross.

David Westwood – Handsworth G C – Handicap +1 – 73

  • Drove the ball well keeping it in play.
  • Warwickshire 1sts county player.
  • Won the club championships 3 times in a row so qualifying for next year as well. 

Scott lamont – Eaton GC – 74

Matthew Oxley  – Disley GC – 75  – better back 9

  • Said mid irons really peppering the flags.
  • Disley mens and junior player.
  • Cheshire county coaching.
  • Playing Birkdale for the first time at the Junior Open.

Luke Richardson – Braintree GC – 75 better back 9

 

Saunton GC – East Course Qualifiers

Ashley Mansell – Handicap 2 –  Clevedon GC – 74

  • Kept ball in play, putted well. Highlight of the day was lipping out 2nd shot on 9.
  • Represents the Clevedon Mens team.
  • Finished joint 6th in Jamega Tour Event at Clevedon – invite as home champ.
  • Won club champs for 3rd year in a row this year.
  • Qualified at Saunton for Final at Tunberry last year.

Ben Isaac – Libbaton GC – 76 (better back 9)

Jason Hampton – Stover GC – 76

  • Qualified at Saunton for Final at Tunberry last year

Rich Woods – Bigbury GC – 78

Alex Kippen – Enmore GC – 80

  • Qualified at Saunton for Final at Tunberry last year.

 

St Andrews Qualifiers

1st Colin Martin – Balbirnie GC – H’Cap +2 – 74

  • Colin is the current Fife County Mens Strokeplay & Matchplay Champion 2009.
  • He represents Fife County in the 6 Man Mens Team.
  • “I was very pleased with my game today, it was an extremely challenging golf course and the new layout is fantastic – today I kept the ball in play which was key in that wind”.

2nd Stephen Marshall – Baberton GC – H’Cap +1 – 79 Better Back 9

  • Stephen plays in the Baberton Mens Team.
  • He has been in his club champ final the last 8 times – won twice.

3rd Steven Higgins – Gourock GC – 79

4th Phill Scott – Letchworth GC – 80 Better Back 9

5th Jim Woods – St Andrews Thistle GC – 80
