Centre of Excellence opens at Celtic Manor under Arnie’s watchful eye

The Celtic Manor Resort Golf Academy has opened a new state-of-the-art all-weather practice facility – in the presence of golfing legend Arnold Palmer.

The new short-game facility, now Wales’ National Centre of Excellence, was unveiled earlier this month during Palmer’s visit to the upcoming Ryder Cup venue.

The practice area features three Huxley All-Weather Golf Greens and three large Huxley All-Weather Practice Tees enabling the facility to be used throughout the year in almost any weather.

“This sort of facility is very important in bringing on the next generation of golfers,” said Palmer, who won seven major championships and played in six Ryder Cups.

“It’s great to see as many young people as possible being given a start in the game and I hope they all enjoy their golf.”
