‘Back on Black’ returns to the Grove

Published:

The Grove will again offer golfers the chance to follow in the footsteps of Tiger Woods by entering its innovative ‘Back on Black’ amateur tournament.

The full handicap strokeplay event is open to men and women with an official EGU registered handicap.

There will be a series of qualifying rounds each month culminating in a Grand Final on Sunday 27th September.

The tournament gets its name because golfers play from the championship tees so they can experience the same challenges that faced Tiger Woods and the world’s best players in the 2006 World Golf Championship.

The entry fee for the qualifying rounds is £119 per person with dates available from March to September. The leading four players from each qualifying event will be eligible for the Grand Final, which costs £50 per person.

New additions for the 2009 season include your own named locker and designated bay on the range and you’ll be announced by a starter on the 1st tee with the added incentive of the ‘Back on Black’ trophy on display.

This innovative concept now in its 4th year and gives amateur golfers the rare chance to play this majestic 7,152 yard course.
