Birmingham’s NEC Golf Show welcomes celebrity line-up

The NEC Golf Show in Birmingham will be awash with famous faces when it returns to the Midland’s venue for the third time this year.

Sporting icons Tim Henman, ex-England goalkeeper David Seaman, cricketer Alex Stewart and Snooker star Willie Thorne will all be making their third visit to the event having attended on both previous occasions.

They are all attending as ambassadors for TaylorMade, who will be showcasing their new ranges – including the R9 and R9 TP irons – on the huge indoor driving range.

Joining them will be NEC Golf Show newcomers – and fellow TaylorMade ambassadors – Ian Wright, of Arsenal and England fame, and Royle Family actor Ralf Little.

Completing the line-up is another ex-England goalkeeper Peter Shilton, who will also be making his first visit to the show.

As well as taking in the hundreds of products being exhibited at the show, the celebrities will compete on the show’s big attractions including the longest drive and 100ft putt competitions.

They will also appear on the show’s stage being interviewed and playing the unique golf gameshow Shankety Shank, as part of the full daily schedule of stage activity.

Speaking at last year’s show, Seaman said: “It’s a great show. I love coming up here every year.

“It’s just getting bigger and bigger every time and there’s all sorts here, everything you need to know about golf.

“Shows like this are great for golf. It gets all the companies in one place so you can walk round and test different products against each other.”

The NEC Golf Show takes place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre from November 27-29 and will showcase everything golf from big-brand equipment to the latest gadgets and the best places to play and stay.
