Kid golfers become global stars

The best young golfers in the country are already on their way to becoming global stars after a recent tournament reached more than 15 million people in the UK and 156 million across the globe.

More than 430 competitors from 30 countries battled it out in the U.S Kids Golf European Championships in East Lothian, Scotland this summer with three UK youngsters retaining world titles in their age groups.

11-year old prodigies Eloise Healey and Max Martin emerged victorious in the Girls 11 and Boys 11 categories, while Surrey youngster Samantha Fuller triumphed in the Girls 9s.

Their exploits were beamed across the UK as well as receiving major newspaper and online coverage after a PR campaign by Holyrood Partnership, which has now been nominated for a coveted CIPR Award for its work.

The championships are backed by American manufacturer U.S. Kids Golf, which specialises in making golf equipment for kids.
