“Thanks for sending your swing in, you have good tempo and speed. As I see it, the main cause of your problems stem from a poor set up.

“Your grip is strong (hands rotated too far to the right) and ball position is too far back. These faults lead to excessive forward lean of the shaft at address and level shoulders.

“In an attempt to correct these errors, and to stop the ball going violently left due to the strong grip, your weight shift goes backwards through impact resulting in the topped shot.

“To fix these errors you should firstly change your ball position to opposite the left instep, then reposition the grip so that the hands are more down the sides of the club grip. These changes will result in a much better release.

“The final correction is to get the low point of the swing further forwards. As you swing, feel as though your weight moves from the back foot to the front foot, just as you would if you were throwing a ball sidearm.

“Once you implement these new moves you will notice a huge improvement in distance, strike and consistency. Good luck!”
