“Firstly, you stand to the ball very nicely, with seemingly good alignment. You made no mention of what your usual ball flight is so I’ll just have to comment on the slight swing flaw that I see.

“The main problem I see in your action is that your swing plane is too flat. This stems from the club swinging too quickly around you at the start of the backswing. This fault can lead to miss-hits off the heel of the club, high pushes and general inconsistency in your ball-striking, especially if the ball is in the rough.

“Although there is a lot of confusion around the subject of swing plane, it is fairly straightforward once you understand the basic checkpoints. If you remember during an on plane swing that the clubshaft is either pointing at or parallel to the ball-to-target line at all times during the swing.

“At any time during the swing when the clubshaft is horizontal the shaft should be parallel to you target line and at all other times the shaft should point at the target line.

“This single change will help you deliver the club to the ball on an improved line and therefore will improve accuracy and help improve the quality of your striking.

“If you want to see this change in action I have a swing plane explanation video posted on Youtube at the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8ejg2C52-I
