Alice rocks it on golf’s big stage

Veteran rock star Alice Coopr is still on cloud nine after emerging triumphant in the ‘Shot at Glory’ at the notorious par-3 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale – hosting this week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Local hero Cooper, a 5 handicapper, finished just 11ft from the pin at the 150-yarder and as a result picked up a handy $40,000 for his Solid Rock Foundation!

“It’s one of the highlights of my golfing career,” admitted an ecstatic Cooper who admits to being a golf nut – he players six times a week!

It was a hectic day for the 62-year-old legend who earlier featured in the Pro-Am event while after his successful Shot at Glory attempt he performed a couple of his signature songs at the nearby Birds Nest entertainment centre before heading off into town to catch the big Bon Jovi gig.

The following morning he was in action again. On the golf course that is and this time it was yours truly who was providing the opposition – catch the next issue of Today’s Golfer (out March 25) to find out how this particular TG20 went.

And lookout next week too for a super competition to win some signed Alice Cooper golf memorabilia…
