Stars all set for Farmfoods British Par-3 Championship

It promises to be a sensational week at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship this year.

Headlining the star professionals is event host Tony Jacklin CBE, who is flying in from Florida with US Senior Open legend, Larry Laoretti. 

Another USA golfing veteran, the charismatic, colourful Doug Sanders, is travelling especially for the event from Houston to add his golfing flair and style.

The field of players comprises more than 30 European Tour and Senior Tour representatives and 30 of the best regional PGA pro’s from all over the UK including last year’s winner, Richard O’Hanlon.

Amongst the players to look out for are, past French Open champions, Graeme Storm, Malcolm McKenzie and Phil Golding. 

Past Ryder Cup players include, Tommy Horton, Malcolm Gregson, Gordon J Brand, Maurice Bembridge and Paul Broadhurst.  There’s several up and coming stars of today, including Scott Jamieson, Gary Boyd, Lee Slattery, Robert Dinwiddie and David Dixon.

The UK’s No.1 all time amateur Gary Wolstenholme who is now a star of the Seniors’ Tour will be there as will highly talented teeanger 15 year old Charley Hull who will be teaming up again with Nailcote’s resident touring professional, Mark Mouland.  

And joining all the pro’s will be a terrific team of celebrity players who will entertain all the visiting spectators.  Jasper Carrott will be taking up the challenge of the Cromwell course as will Peter Schmeichel, Alan McInally, Peter Shilton and the one and only “Mr Maximum” Willie Thorne to name just a few.

The tented village offers a wide range of catering and fun for all the family including a golf simulator competition, chipping games, face painting, massages and beauty products from John Lewis.

Public car parking is free and tickets are just £10 for adults and £5 for children under 13 and over 65’s.
