Top actor launches Leuka Mini Masters

Actor Dougray Scott officially launches the 2011 Leuka Mini Masters celebrity golf tournament with a very special event in the Penthouse Suite of The May Fair Hotel next Tuesday.

The Penthouse Putt-Off will see celebrities and guests attempting to win prizes by holing out on London’s highest putting green – installed on the balcony of The May Fair Hotel’s luxurious penthouse suite – while raising money for Leuka, a pioneering leukaemia charity based at London’s Hammersmith Hospital.

“This will be a unique evening of high-altitude golf and great company,” says Dougray Scott, star of Mission Impossible II, Leuka patron and host of the Leuka Mini Masters. “Better still, we’ll be raising money for a great cause.”

Celebrities and guests will enjoy canapés prepared by The May Fair Hotel, chilled lager from Asahi and shots of Jagermeister. There will also be special ‘Seve Sangria’ on offer in memory of the late, great Severiano Ballesteros – one of the inspirations for the Leuka Mini Masters.

The May Fair Hotel offers contemporary, 5-star chic in the heart of the city. Since being opened by King George V in 1927, this luxurious Stratton Street destination has welcomed royalty, aristocracy, film and fashion legends. Among the hotel’s many features are The May Fair Theatre screening room, a superb spa and The May Fair Bar, recently named ‘Best Hotel Bar in London’.

The May Fair Hotel will again be bringing their hospitality and expertise to the Leuka Mini Masters on Friday July 15th, with a special cocktail bar for competitors.

Now in its fourth year, the Leuka Mini Masters hosted by Dougray Scott is a unique blend of celebrity par-3 tournament, summer garden party and boutique music festival. The event attracts Britain’s leading golfing celebrities, with confirmed team captains this year including James Nesbitt, Gabby and Kenny Logan, Jamie Theakston, Gianluca Vialli and Tim Lovejoy.

The 2011 Leuka Mini Masters takes place at Dukes Meadows Golf & Tennis in Chiswick on Friday July 15th. Official partners of this year’s event include Omega, Jagermeister, Ian Poulter and IJP Design, Asahi, The May Fair Hotel, Thomas Lyte, Spotify and Dukes Meadows Golf & Tennis.
