Rate My Swing: Tim Guest

Tim, you have been chosen to have your swing analysed by a TG Pro! Rob Watts has taken a good look at it, here’s his feedback…

“Tim’s address position needs a bit of work. The basic can be improved by moving the left hand over to show one more knuckle and the right hand needs to feel more in the fingers. At the moment, it is too far underneath the handle.”

“Tim’s ball position needs to move forward to just inside the left heel and the pelvis at address should be moved six inches towards the target. This will help with the weight distribution at address and allow him to turn more into his right side in the backswing and help his legs feel more grounded.”

“In Tim’s swing there is a lack of weight transfer – the upper body is over-working and lower body is too quiet. Therefore he cannot get on to his shots so there is a severe lack of power and his swing is all shoulders and arms.”

“A drill for Tim to try would be one-armed practice swings with the right arm. This will unlock the through swing helping him to get through his shots. Check out my video called ‘Turn a slice into a draw’ and also the ‘Left shoulder tee peg drill’. I feel both of these will help create a much better picture of what he has to do during the swing.

Good luck Tim! Rob”
