Stars turn out again for Leuka Mini Masters

Three’s A Crowd Events has announced that the Leuka Mini Masters sponsored by Spotify is back on Wednesday 4th July 2012 and celebrating its fifth year in style by moving to the world-renowned Wentworth Club in Surrey.

The Mini Masters cheekily bills itself as “Golf’s unofficial fifth major” and this year will combine all the Mini Masters traditions – garden party atmosphere, bars on every hole, gourmet food and live music – with Wentworth’s impeccable courses, VIP service and long golfing history.

The tournament, hosted by actor Dougray Scott, has in the past four years raised thousands of pounds for Leuka, the Leukaemia charity based at Hammersmith Hospital. It is now a firm fixture in the golfing and social calendars, being described as “the best day of the year” (James Nesbitt), “groovy” (Hugh Grant) and “immense” (Tim Lovejoy).

The tournament always attracts some of the biggest names in celebrity golf and confirmed captains for 2012 include Sir Terry Wogan, Rob Brydon, Jodie Kidd, Anton Du Beke, Willie Thorne, Charlotte Jackson, Gethin Jones, Phil Glenister and Rick Edwards plus Olmpic heroes Steve Backley, Mark Foster and Kriss Akabussi.

This year, the eighteen teams will have the unique opportunity to play Wentworth’s par 3 Executive Course, which is normally only open to club members. After playing two rounds of nine holes with gourmet barbecue lunch in between, players will return to the clubhouse for a Champagne reception in the Wentworth Club Lounge and a three-course Players Dinner prepared by The Wentworth Grill, sister restaurant to The Ivy and Le Caprice.

VIP guests will also be able to enjoy the event’s legendary on-course hospitality and watch all the celebrity golfing action, with big screens beaming live coverage from all parts of the perfectly manicured Executive Course.

Guests will also be able to attend the Players Dinner, evening entertainment, and charity auction, where some amazing prizes will be on offer. VIP tickets start from £180 and are available from www.leukaminimasters.com/tickets.

Mark Emms from Three’s A Crowd Events said: “We’re very excited to be bringing the Leuka Mini Masters to Wentworth, which has hosted some of golf’s most prestigious tournaments and all the greatest players from the last 80 years. We like to make the Mini Masters bigger and better every year and with the VIP experience that Wentworth provides this fifth tournament will be very special.”
