Getting ready to tee-off in Macmillan’s big golf drive

The Big Golf Drive, Macmillan’s new golfing fundraiser, will be taking place on August 24 and is set to bring hundreds of golfers and golf clubs across the country together to raise vital funds for people affected by cancer.

Golf clubs across the UK have generously donated tee times to the cause, which golfers can purchase via the dedicated tee-time website www.teeofftimes.co.uk.

All proceeds from these tee times will go to Macmillan Cancer Support so by simply playing a round with your pals you will be supporting people affected by cancer.

With the number of people living with cancer expected to double to four million by 2030, Macmillan’s services are required at an ever-increasing rate.

Steve Hemsworth, Managing Director of Teeofftimes.co.uk’s parent company Golfbreaks.com said: “Our partner golf clubs have really got behind the Big Golf Drive with almost 100 donating an hour of tee times on August 24.

“With more than 600 tee times already donated and consumer awareness being generated through media partners and in-store at american golf we are confident that our customers booking these special tee-times will generate a huge amount of money for this fantastic cause.”

With the support of golfers across the UK it is hoped that the Big Golf Drive will raise £50,000 to help Macmillan provide vital practical, emotional, medical and financial support to people affected by cancer and their families.

Claire Driscoll, Macmillan’s Golf Programme Manager, says “Getting involved in the Big Golf Drive is a really simple, fun way to play the game of golf whilst making a big difference to the lives of people affected by cancer. Help us make this year’s event a success by booking your tee time today.”
