Amateur wins Volvo for hole-in-one

Keen amateur golfer Damian Pitts bagged a new Volvo S60 at a local corporate golf day when he aced the 166-yard first hole at Chartridge Park Golf Club, Buckinghamshire.

The incredible feat is the first time that any player has hit a hole-in-one at business rescue and restructuring specialists Business Rescue Centre’s annual corporate golf day tournament.

Pitts, a litigation case manager with Hertford-based law firm Breeze & Wyles, won the brand new Volvo S60 D3 R-Design worth £30,000, with his amazing shot in windy and rainy conditions.

“I think the adverse weather conditions may have helped,” he said. “I’ve never hit a hole-in-one in my life and this was certainly the time and place to do it. I am very much looking forward to taking delivery of my new Volvo.”

Business Rescue Centre managing director Kevin Aston said: “Every year the feedback from the golf day is better than the last but it will be very difficult to top this year’s achievement. The hole-in-one adds a fun element to the day and we are absolutely delighted that one of our guests not only enjoyed the golf day but returned home with a brand new Volvo.”

Volvo Cars Watford general manager Dean Francis adds: “BRC are loyal customers so when I received the invite to their annual golf event, we were only too happy to oblige by arranging a car for their hole-in-one competition. We’ve run a number of hole-in-one competitions at golf events in the past but we have never had a winner and we were astounded and excited when Damian hit his winning shot. We are very much looking forward to delivering the new car to him and welcoming him to the Volvo family.”
