Direct Golf competition winners tee it up with world number one Luke Donald

Just days before winning the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, Luke Donald gave three lucky golfers the round of a lifetime by taking them on at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club in Surrey.

James Goldie, Neil Penham and Brian Pearce won a free-to-enter competition from retailers Direct Golf to play with the Ryder Cup hero, and Goldie – playing off 18 – also managed to outdo the World No. 1 on a nearest-the-pin challenge by putting his tee-shot to within 10-foot of the hole at the 14th.

“I’ve had a fantastic day and would like to thank Direct Golf for such a great opportunity to play at a fantastic golf course and also play with one of the leading golfers in the world, Luke Donald, said Goldie.

“The whole event will have a long lasting memory firmly embedded in the grey matter for years to come,” he added.

The day concluded with a prize presentation and photo opportunities with Luke, before he headed off to Wentworth to prepare to successfully defend his BMW PGA Championship crown.

The three golfers were drawn from an entry list of over 22,000, the largest ever field for a competition hosted by Direct Golf.
