Best Western Plus Magnolia Park Hotel, Golf & Country Club welcomed key members of the golfing press on Wednesday 13th May to illustrate the state-of-the-art golfing facilities on offer at the 200 acre estate in Boarstall, Buckinghamshire.

As host of this special event, Tony Jacklin greeted members of the sporting press at 9am with bacon rolls, coffee and tea before setting off for a day of golf in the glorious sunshine. After registration, Alan Pither, owner of Magnolia Park welcomed the press and the Professional golfers to the club, detailing all of the exciting developments in line for Magnolia Park.

All names were put into a hat and selected at random for four balls captained by former Ryder Cup vice-captain, Peter Baker, Ryder Cup players, Paul Broadhurst and David Gilford, and Nick Job, a star of the European Tour in the 1970s and 1980s.

After a fun and relaxing round on the course, the press, who included Tony Jimenez of Reuters, Andy Roberts of Golf Magic, Golf Monthly’s Jezz Ellwood, Chris Bertram, a freelance journalist who works with BBC Sport and Golf World, Richard Green of Golf Breaks and Golf World’s Jock Howard, were treated to a hearty dinner and an intimate Q & A session with Tony Jacklin, Paul Broadhurst, David Gilford and Peter Baker.
