This is either the best bunker we’ve ever seen – or the worst

The PGA Tour is in Mayakoba this week, for Mexico’s only PGA Tour event. The course, El Camaleon, is the home to probably the world’s scariest bunker. Just look at that thing!
Yes, that is a whacking great cave in a bunker.
If you think they’re just doing work on the bunker, and that it’s probably ground under repair and will be restored to normality in due course, you’d be sorely mistaken. The cave bunker on the 7th hole is a permanent fixture.

And finally, here’s a nice dog, staring into the cave, which is known as a ‘cenote’. That means a “natural underground reservoir of water such as occurs in the limestone of Yucatan, Mexico”. Don’t say we never teach you anything!
