Ryder Cup: Punters piling on team USA

Less than 10% of all bets placed on the Ryder Cup with William Hill have been for Team Europe.

Darren Clarke’s side have drifted out to 15/8 from an original 5/6 with the USA now 8/15.

“On paper the European team is lacking in depth and punters are piling on team USA as if the result had already been decided,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Mcllroy will need to be on form for Europe to stand a real chance and he is 4/1 to be the team’s top scorer, with Masters champion Danny Willett at 10/1.
