And now there is a last call for entries – which closes on the 25th June, 2017

From 24th – 28th July, 150 junior golfers will once again descend on Amendoeira Golf Resort in the Algarve for the Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship, and youngsters are being urged to move quickly to ensure they don’t miss out.

A firm favourite amongst the game’s future stars, entries for the event, which prides itself on providing young golfers with a week to remember and an insight into the life of a tour pro, will close on June 25th.

Chris Howell, Chairman of the Oceânico Group, said: “The Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship is always a highlight of the year. We look forward immensely to welcoming some of the game’s brightest young talent, and making it a week to remember for everyone involved”.

Held over the renowned Faldo and O’Connor Jnr courses, the Championship aims to encourage the next generation of golfers through a fun and exciting competition.

The tournament allows boys and girls aged 7 to 18 an opportunity to showcase their skills and advance in the game, with boys aged 13 to 18 getting the chance to play Portugal’s best golf course; The Faldo course.

With a fun-packed schedule, including a Par 3 Parent & Child Tournament played on the resort’s Par 3 Academy course, the annual celebration of golf is always a big hit with families.

There are six categories, and handicaps will be officially accountable both nationally and internationally (categories under 18 will earn points to the World Amateur Golf Ranking).

The entry fee, which ranges from €125 to €270, includes 4 rounds of golf, one practice round on the day prior to the start of the tournament, prizes, tickets to the opening and closing ceremonies and a buffet lunch for three days.

Participants in the Championship will receive preferential accommodation rates to stay in two-bedroom apartments or luxurious five-bedroom villas.

In addition to the tournament, Amendoeira’s junior focus will be on its Kids School, which offers use of the world-class outdoor practice facilities. For junior members it offers the opportunity to harness both their skills and grow their passion for the game with tuition and weekly competitions.
