Carnoustie open new state of the art clubhouse

Carnoustie Golf Links, the 2018 Open Championship Venue, has officially opened it’s new mulit-million pound state-of-the-art clubhouse, ‘Links House’.

Carnoustie Golf Links have opened their brand new state-of-the-art clubhouse ahead of the 2018 Open, which they say will provide a world-class visitor experience to match Carnoustie’s reputation as one of the finest links courses in the world.

A stone’s throw away from Carnoustie’s famous hotel and situated next to the first tee, the new Links House building is home to an impressive indoor practice facility, a bar and restaurant which overlooks both the 1st tee and 18th green, and a well kitted out pro-shop in addition to locker rooms and a large atrium for visitors.

The building is impressive, and on first inspection the indoor training facility immediately catches your eye – allowing those who are headed out on to the course to hit a few balls and even play Carnoustie (or the 13 other available courses) on the seven simulators.

Furthermore, Links House boasts brand new changing rooms and a Heritage Area that provides information on the rich history of Carnoustie Golf Links.

Featuring prominently among the impressive new facilities at Links house is The Rookery restaurant, which overlooks the 1st and 18th holes, providing contemporary cuisine in a stylish and traditional atmosphere.

Commenting on the stunning new clubhouse, Carnoustie Golf Links Chief Executive,

Michael Wells, said: “We are extremely proud to be able to provide a world-class facility that matches the outstanding golf offering here at Carnoustie.

“The new building offers first class facilities where our local community and visitors from all over the world can enjoy refreshment and relaxation in the beautiful setting of Carnoustie, with spectacular vistas across the links and the sea.

“The opening of Links House ensures that we are now able to offer a five-star experience which rivals the world’s very best golfing venues.”

During the Open Championship, Links House will effectively become a clubhouse for the players for them to take advantage of the facilities as they prepare for the third major of the year.
