The tee times and pairings for the 4th round of The 2023 Open at Hoylake?
Today’s Golfer’s 2023 Major coverage is brought to you in association with TaylorMade
For the past two rounds, Brian Harman has looked untouchable, every time a sucker punch came his way from the rest of the field he palmed it off and came up with another birdie. He has maintained his five-shot lead over the rest of the pack with Cameron Young making chase at seven-under-par. The two will be teeing off last on Sunday, both hoping to win their first major and become Open Champion.
Local lad Matthew Jordan has been playing great all tournament and has kept himself in the fight from the word go! On the back nine on Saturday, he found himself 1-over-par going down the 14th hole and managed to finish his round with four birdies in the last five holes to end the day on three-under-par. Jordan will be teeing the ball up with fellow Europen Nicholai Højgaard who will be both looking to set the early clubhouse lead.
Sepp Straka finished Saturday with a 1-under-par round of 70 leaving him one shot better than Friday but has found himself seven shots back from leader Brian Harman. The Austrian has been hitting it well at Hoylake and will be hoping to boost his Ryder Cup chances with a strong finish here on Sunday. Straka will be joined by fellow Ryder Cup hopeful and most spectator’s favorite Tommy Fleetwood.
The Englishman struggled to get anything going on Saturday with only one birdie and one bogey resulting in a level par round of 71. There was hope for Tommy at the start of the round after Harman’s dropped shots, but on the back nine, he had to watch on as Harman kept creeping away from him. He is now seven shots back from the American.
Yet again it’s going to be another interesting day on Sunday at The Open. It’s looking like a wet final round is on the horizon but as the story of the week has gone the weather is unpredictable and its uncertainty may make for a fun finish.
Here is a look at who is playing with who in the pairings for Saturday at the 2023 Open Championship.
