SEVE The Movie is released on June 27, and to celebrate we’re looking back at his life in images. Seve Ballesteros appeared on more covers of Golf World magazine than anyone else – so here they all are.
No one has played golf quite like Seve, in the history of the game. Throughout his career he saw shots which few would even dare to dream about, let alone pull off.
He was the ultimate escapologist. When he found himself in trouble, he saw it as a challenge; and invariably he rose to it and produced the impossible. Seve’s short game, honed on a beautiful beach where he grew up in Pedrena, was quite extraordinary. His touch and feel around the green literally had to be seen to be believed.
Mentally, Seve was as tough as they come. In his eight Ryder Cups as a player, he was feared like no other. The Americans never really came up with an answer to his raw passion. Put simply, Seve was born to play matchplay, and his record speaks for itself.
