St Andrews: Hole by hole | 9th
Hole 9 – End – Par 4, 352yds
“Everybody says that if you hit it left at St Andrews, you’re going to be fine,” says Sorley. “That’s true, because left is safe on every hole apart from 9 and 10. But going left all the time isn’t always going to get you a good score. In fact, the tighter you can keep it to the right, the better the angle you’ll have for attacking the green with your second shot. You can hit it as far left off the tee as you want, but you’ll find you’ve got to come over a lot more trouble to get to the pin. Keeping it right gives you a big advantage in that respect.”
Recent Tweaks: A new bunker has been added short and left of the green and softening of the banks of two fairway bunkers on the right.
