Rory McIlroy reckons he has the game to win this year's Open championship at Turnberry but knows he has to stay patient.
The talented 20-year-old has already fin
ished the first two Majors of the year in the top 20 and is hoping to have another good showing when the action starts tomorrow.
He said: "There's a part of me that knows I have the game to do well here. You catch yourself thinking what if this happens, what if that happens. How good would it be to win The Open this week?
"It's just something you have to deal with. It's a balance between having the right expectations and then trying to fulfill them."
McIlroy is playing with America's Anthony Kim and Retief Goosen. McIlroy is relishing the challenge. "Kim and I get on really well. We'll be chatting a lot because our other playing partner, Retief Goosen, is not so chatty!"
