The Betfair ‘Team of the Week’, in preparation for the double-weighted Arnold Palmer Invitational, is as follows:

Matthew Goggin ($1.0m)

Australian Matthew Goggin is sneaky long off the tee, and his all-round game has really stepped up a gear in recent months. Indeed, Goggin is on the verge of a maiden appearance in the Masters Tournament and a decent finish at Bay Hill will cement his place in the field.

Davis Love III ($1.0m)

The much-experienced Davis Love III is another player who can secure a berth at Augusta with a solid performance this week, currently lying in 47th position in the Official World Rankings.

Kenny Perry ($2.0m)

Kenny Perry has a terrific conversion rate when in contention, and has won four events in the last 12 months. Furthermore, the only time he has missed the cut during this time was when he was forced to withdraw following the opening round of the 2008 USPGA Championship.

Brett Quigley ($0.8m)

After a disappointing year in 2008 and a slow start to 2009, Brett Quigley has really found his game in recent weeks. The American followed up a joint 13th placing in the Honda Classic with two successive joint runner-up finshes and will look to maintain this kind of form at Bay Hill this coming week.

Nick Watney ($0.8m)

Nick Watney is one of a few emerging Americans who is destined for a big future. Watney pushed Phil Mickelson all the way in the WGC-CA Championship and followed this up by finishing joint 12th in last week’s Transitions Championship. Watney is now up to third on the 2009 PGA Tour Money List and is ranked sixth in terms of driving distance.

Tiger Woods ($9.0m)

Even though this is only his second strokeplay event in nine months, Tiger Woods simply cannot be overlooked this week. Woods achieved a top-10 finish in his return to action a fortnight ago, but with more practice under his belt, and with a much weaker field, is likely to fare even better this time out. Woods is also the defending champion.
