USPGA build up

Lee Westwood has withdrawn from the final Major of the year with a calf injury.

Westwood has been playing through the pain of the injury for the last few months but withdrew after the opening round of the Bridgestone Invitational last week and has not also pulled out of the USPGA at Whistling Straits.

The event starts on Thurasday with some interesting match-ups.All three Major-winners of 2010 will play together in the opeing round. Phil Mickelson (Masters), Graeme McDowell (US Open) and Louis Ossterhuizen (The Open) will battle it out and Tiger Woods wilh play with reigning champ YE Yang.

Woods slumped to second-to-last at last week’s Bridgetone Invitational and is desperate to halt his terrible slide in form since the revelations broke late last year concerning his ‘extra marital activities.’

Ian Poulter plays with American Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin and Columbian Camillo Villegas – who is at the centre of a legal wrangle with Acushnet – owners of Titleist and Footjoy.
