Fantasy League preview: Qatar Masters

We stay with the European Tour’s Desert Swing in the Middle East for the fourth event of the FREE TG Fantasy League.

Alvaro Quiros will be the defending champion at the Qatar Masters at Doha GC but must compete with a star-studded field all hoping to bag the €294,584 winners cheque and Ryder Cup qualification points.

Five of the world’s top 10 will be teeing it up this week, but here’s who TG are tipping to pick up big Fantasy League points:

Retief Goosen $2.8m
The resurgent South African started his PGA Tour season on Hawaii well with T6th and 4th finishes and hasn’t missed the cut in 20 starts – including 12 top 10s.

Martin Kaymer $3.2m
He jumped to number six in the world with his victory at the Abu Dhabi Championship and proved he can win back-to-back at the French and Scottish Open’s last year.

Louis Oosthuizen $1.0m
Has a great record in the Middle East with a pair of runners-up finishes and a T7th in the Desert Swing last year and 5th last week.

Ian Poulter $3.0m
The flamboyant Englishman is beginning to fulfil his potential and four top 10s on the bounce have lifted him into the top 10. Expect a big week and a big year from Poults.

Charl Schwartzel $1.3m
He already has two wins from two starts in the 2010 Race to Dubai and should be full of confidence and re-energised after a week off from Abu Dhabi.

Henrik Stenson $3.6m
The 2008 winner enjoys playing in the Middle East and lives in Dubai. For his last 20 rounds at Doha GC he is a total of 70 under par, with his last 16 consecutive rounds all being under par.

You have until 3.30am on Thursday 28th January to pick you six-man team at www.fantasyleaguegolf.co.uk. Good luck!
