euro tour update

Oliver Fisher surprised a lot of people, including himself, as he took his debut European Tour win at the Czech Open on Sunday.

The 22-year-old had missed 20 cuts in his first 21 events of the year but managed to hold off the field to win by two shots.

He said: “Golf’s a funny game. I really enjoyed it and I had a lot of fun this week. I did a lot of work back home before this event and it seems to have paid off.”

Fisher’s 250,000 euro first prize will elevate him dramatically from 222nd to 75th on the Race to Dubai money list.

Swede Mikael Lundberg was second with England’s Gary Boyd in a tie for third.
