Graeme McDowell shot a stunning 64 in the second round of The Scottish Open to sit on top of the leaderboard with two other players.

He shares the lead with Scottish pair Scott Jamieson and Peter Whiteford. But play has been stopped with many players still to complete their second rounds, due to thunderstorms and the threat of lightning.

Padraig Harrington managed to complete his round and is on eight under, just three behind the leaders.

Lee Westwood played six holes and has not imporved his overnight position of seven under. Justin Rose, however did imporve and now also on eight under with Harrington.Socring is still good and the cut is expected to be around the three under mark.

Phil Mickelson had been looking like he might not make it to the weekend but he rallied well to end up on four under. The American’s second round of 67 showed that he is not fionished yet and a weekend charge is still very much a possibility.
