Showers and 25mph winds forecast for Sunday

The latest Met Office predictions indicate that the weather on Sunday won’t be quite as bad and the downpours that the early starters had to endure on Saturday.

Those players off first on Sunday will will actually have the better of conditions as a cloudly morning with winds of around 25mph will give way to lunchtime gusts up to 35mph and rain setting in from about 4pm.

It looks like the final groups will finish off in showers and 30mph wind, which will give hope to some of the players in the middle of the field.

The weather conditions made scoring very difficult for the most part of Saturday but the slightly better Sunday forecast means the winning score is likely to be under par.
