tiger future in doubt

Tiger Woods limped out of The Players championship, sparking huge debate over his playing future.

The 35-year-old has already undergone four knee ops and had hardly practised in the run-up to the Sawgrass tournament. He looked in pain and discomfort during the opening round as he nothed up 42 shots.

He winced and grimmaced his way round nine holes before withdrawing. It now raises concerns that his knee ionjury is back and he may miss the US Open.

Tiger would only say: “I’m having a hard time walking.” And when asked whtherhe thought it was a recurrance of his roubling knee injury he would only answer: “I don’t know. Give me a few days to see what the docs say.”

Tiger has steadily dropped down the world rankings and is now eighth. If he is forced out to recover from his latest setback he will slip even further down the ratings. It also brings into question whether he will ever overtake Jack Nicklaus’ 18 Majors tally.
