Oosthuizen cruises to Malaysian Open title

PING staffer Louis Oosthuizen brushed off his Masters disappointment by winning the Malaysian Open by three shots.

The South African lost in a playoff at Augusta the week before to American Bubba Watson, but his final score of 17-under-par was enough to seal the win ahead of Scot Stephen Gallacher.

Heavy storms meant that the 2010 Open Champion had to play 26 holes on the final day, but Oosthuizen was always in control.

He reached the turn in two-under-par for the day before a birdie at the 13th saw him move clear of Gallacher.

The victory was Oosthuizen’s second of the season, following the win at the Africa Open.

The 29-year-old used PING’s Rapture VR driver, S56 irons, Tour-S wedges and a Scottsdale Series ZB S putter.
