The Players Tour Kicks-off Its 2013 Season

After a weather delayed start to the season, Britain’s newest professional golf tour – The Players Tour – finally kicked off their 2013 campaign at The Addington in Surrey last week.

On a course, which according to the scores wasn’t playing the easiest to say the least, it was former British Amateur Champion Lee James from Dorset, who opened up his account on The Players Tour, with a two-shot win over James Doswell from East Sussex, who secured his second runners-up spot on the trot.

A round of 69 was enough to see Lee James take the title and in turn collect his winners cheque for £1,020.

PGA Professionals Glen Culmer (Hertfordshire) and Matt Achurch (Kent) also put in solid performances, tying for third place, both scoring 73.

The Players Tour now heads to the 2013 R&A Amateur Championship host venue, Prince’s on 18th April before moving on to Heythrop Park on the 25th for it’s first 36 hole event of the season.
