Las Colinas To Host Third Consecutive European Tour Q-School

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, one of Continental Europe’s Top-100 golf courses, will be under the international golfing spotlight once again when the European Tour Qualifying School Stage 2 returns to the Spanish resort later this year.

From 2-5th November, golf’s rising superstars will descend upon the secluded Troon-managed venue to battle it out for full exemption to the main tour.

Las Colinas is located south of Alicante along the Mediterranean coast, in the region of Valencia and is blessed with a Cabell B. Robinson designed par-71, 6,973-yard championship course with perfectly manicured fairways and putting surfaces.

“We are committed to building upon the success of the previous Stage 2 Qualifying Schools held here at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club and are continually striving to raise the bar with our facilities and service throughout the entire resort,” commented Cristóbal Guerrero, Managing Director.

“European Tour Qualifying School is an ideal platform upon which to showcase our stunning venue and we look forward to welcoming back the rising stars of golf in November.”

The qualifying school has a rich history of identifying future European Tour stars, with four-time European Tour winner Branden Grace advancing out of Q-school in 2011 alongside Dutchman Tim Sluiter, the two-time winner at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club.

“The course is a fair test of golf and has been consistently presented in immaculate condition,” said Mike Stewart, Tournament Director, European Tour.  “When a quality venue continues to deliver a successful event, it makes sense to build upon it.

“With Las Colinas Golf & Country Club’s on-site accommodation, accessibility and first-class facilities, the venue is among the best we experience on tour providing all the solutions for our competitors, for many of whom this is the most important week of their career.“

Since its opening in 2010, Las Colinas has rapidly developed into a world-class destination, with extensive practice facilities and a comprehensive selection of sporting amenities alongside the 18 hole course.
