Atlanta, Georgia is the setting as the PGA Tour season and FedEx Cup reach their grand finale at East Lake this week.
If any of the current top five in the FedEx Cup standings (Chris Kirk, Billy Horschel, Bubba Watson, Rory McIlroy and Hunter Mahan) win this week’s Tour Championship they will automatically scoop the FedEx Cup and its $10m bonus as well.
With Dustin Johnson still absent, the remaining 29 players on the points list will tackle the par 70 layout where slick greens await. Henrik Stenson led the Greens in Regulation stats as he triumphed last year, becoming the fourth man in succession to win the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup in the same year.
Rory McIlroy, £5.5m
If last week’s two four-putts had been singles he would have forced a play-off with winner Billy Horschel. Despite that he still tied for eighth.
Bubba Watson, £3.0m
Hit an impressive 75 per cent of Greens in Regulation last week as he finished runner-up at Cherry Hills. Was tied for fifth at East Lake in 2012.
Jim Furyk, £2.2m
Brought in last week for his consistency and didn’t disappoint. A tied-4th at the BMW was his fifth top-10 in seven starts and his last win came here in 2010.
Bill Haas, £1.9m
FedEx Cup winner here in 2011. He registered his fourth straight top-20 at Cherry Hills last week.
Billy Horschel, £1.6m
Won last week and was runner-up the week before. He ranks fourth in GIR for the season and was seventh at East Lake last year.
Morgan Hoffman, £0.8m
The hidden success story of these play-offs. Has started every leg outside of the required mark to stay in the running and shot 62-63 last weekend to make it here.
