The four best shots from the Hero World Challenge

Bubba Watson won the Hero World Challenge at the weekend, a tournament he very nearly didn’t enter. Having recently adopted a daughter, Bubba feared that her adoption paperwork and passport would not be sorted in time to allow her to travel, so declined his invitation to participate. “I said no, but if somebody does back out, let me know and then I would let you know where we’re at in our paperwork, right?”
Jason Day backed out, after his wife, Ellie, gave birth to their second child. And so Bubba, with wife and daughter in tow, made the trip to the Bahamas. He’ll be glad he did. Rounds of 67, 67, 63, 66 gave him a three-shot victory over Patrick Reed, bagging a cheque for $1 million and cementing his spot as fourth in the world.
“I have to thank the U.S. government and passport office for getting Dakota a passport so we could be here,” said Bubba. “My wife joked on the green there. She said I guess she’s off the team since she’s the one that was putting the pressure on about we can’t go if Dakota can’t go. She felt bad, but it worked out in the end.”
It certainly did. Bubba hit some great shots at the Hero World Challenge, but he wasn’t the only one…
