More Aussie success at AT&T Byron Nelson

Australian Steven Bowditch loves Texas. The 31-years-old is based in Dallas and the Aussie has celebrated his two US PGA Tour victories in the Lone Star state.

His latest success came at  the AT&T Byron Nelson yesterday where he shot a -5 64 in the final round to comfortably win by four shots – four clear of Americans Charley Hoffman, Jimmy Walker and Scott Pinckney.

It was a great effort by Bowditch who led all the way from the front after opening his account with a first round 62.

He didn’t start particularly well but four back nine birdies put him firmly in control again though he needed a huge slice of luck on the par-3 17th when he somehow managed to clear the water and find the back of the green.

He is the third Aussie to win the tournament in recent years following wins for Adam Scott (2008) and Jason Day (2010).

Bowditch’s US Tour breakthrough came at last year’s Valero Texas Open and this latest victory moves him to 16th on the FedEx Cup rankings
