Fantasy Golf: Dean & Deluca Invitational

Jordan Spieth is the defending champion this week as the PGA Tour stays in Texas for the Dean & DeLuca Invitational at Colonial Country Club.

The European Tour’s flagship event the BMW PGA Championship is also on, so there’s plenty of good players to choose from in your Fantasy Golf Team this week!

Seven former champions are in this weeks field at the 7,209 yards, par 70 course, which includes Masters Champion Sergio Garcia and two-time winner Zach Johnson.

But who should be in your Fantasy team this week?

Fantasy Golf Picks: Dean & Deluca Invitational

Past Champions in the field: Jordan Spieth (’16), Chris Kirk (’15), Boo Weekly (’13), Zach Johnson (’12, ’10), Steve Stricker (‘9), Phil Mickelson (‘8, ‘6), Rory Sabbatini (‘7).

Jordan Spieth: Fantasy Price £15m
Spieth missed the cut at both the Players Championship and the AT&T Byron Nelson, but that doesn’t deter from a pretty solid season for the former World No.1. In 11 events he’s had a victory, three top 5s, a top 10, a T11, a T12 and missed three cuts. It’s a bit of a risky bet given his last two tournaments, but given that he shot all four rounds in the 60s to win this tournament last year at -17, we’re not convinced we’d bet against him.

Sergio GarciaFantasy Price £14.5m
The Masters Champion had a few weeks off before he went to the Players and the AT&T Byron Nelson, and although he had final rounds to forget in both tournaments Sergio still ended up T30 and T20 respectively. He’s already had two wins this year, and as long as he doesn’t falter in the final round – Garcia is a solid bet this week given that he hasn’t missed a cut since July 2017.

Brandt Snedeker: Fantasy Price £13.5m
Snedeker missed out on the Players Championship while he nursed an injured hand, and subsequently missed the cut in his first tournament back last week. However, his previous five starts give a good indication that may have been a one-off dip in form, as prior to the Byron Nelson he went T11-T27-T17-T28-T7.

Paul Casey: Fantasy Price £13.5m
With two top 10s (including a 6th place at the Masters) and no worse result than T22 in his last four starts, Paul Casey returns from a week off in a great position for to win his second PGA Tour victory.

Matt Kuchar: Fantasy Price £13m
Kuchar comes in to the tournament having finished in the top 10 at the Byron Nelson, and excluding the MDF cut at the Players Championship, he’s been pretty consistent is his past few events. His last five? T9 – T82 – 40 – T11 – T4

Jason Dufner: Fantasy Price £9m
Dufner finished T13 last week at the Byron Nelson, and given that he hasn’t missed a cut since the Sony Open, he’s a pretty solid bet. He’s had four top 13s in his last eight tour starts, which includes a T5 at the Zurich Classic with Patton Kizzire.

Ryan Palmer: Fantasy Price £9m
Another player who fell victim to TPC Sawgrass, but Palmer had gone T6 and T11 in his previous two starts, and ended up T27 at the Byron Nelson. He missed the cut here last year but was T10 the previous year, and given his current form he does look to be a good shout for this week. Need any more persuading? He’s also a member at Colonial.

Pat Perez: Fantasy Price £8.5m
Perez just missed out at Wells Fargo, finishing T2 alongside Dustin Johnson – and followed it up with a T20 at The Players. He’s been a steady pick for us in our Fantasy Golf game, having not missed a cut all year (excluding his WD at the Waste Management Pheonix Open) and recording two top-5s and five top 20s in ten starts.

Ollie SchniederjansFantasy Price £8m
Schniederjans has had a top-5 and two top 10s in 2017, and his last two strokeplay events before the Byron Nelson saw him finish T18 and T3. This will be his first time at the Dean and Deluca, but he’s quite a good outside pick if you’re low on Fantasy Cash.

Bud CauleyFantasy Price £7m
Cauley is playing some brilliant golf at the moment, and you can guarantee he’s going to be in our Fantasy team this week. His last four starts? T5 – T5- T10- T9. He’s low value in our Fantasy Golf game, so we reckon he’s a solid bet if you’re low on fantasy cash.

Sung-hoon Kang: Fantasy Price £5.5m
Kang is an absolute steal in our fantasy golf game if you look at his recent results. He finished T30 (the same as Sergio Garcia) in the Players and T20 last week. He did miss the cut in the team-event Zurich Classic, but his last three results before that were T6-T11-T2.
