Presidents Cup: Pairings & Results

The third day of Presidents Cup matches will take place on Saturday, with the United States taking a substantial lead after winning both Thursday and Friday sessions.

The United States Team were a force to be reckoned with during the Friday fourball sessions, taking 4.5 points from a possible 5 and taking the total to 8-2 in the overall standings.

The only half came from the top match of the day, as the power pairing of Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed needed a strong fight-back from Adam Hadwin and Hideki Matsuyama.

Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler were paired together for the second time in two days, and took out the five-time unbeaten International team of Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace by 3&2 to gain a 2-0-0 record of their own.

Rookies Kevin Chappel and Charley Hoffman had the biggest result of the day, taking down Anirban Lahiri and Charl Schwartzel 6&5.

Phil Mickleson and Kevin Kisner met the same opponents they’d faced on day 1, and once again the match went down 18 all-square, but this time – it ended in favour of the Americans.

Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka fell behind early on in the fifth match, but fought back to a 3&2 victory over Adam Scott & Jhonattan Vegas. You can watch The Presidents Cup from 5.30pm on Sky Sports Golf, with the tee times starting at 11.35am in New Jersey, which is 4.35pm UK time.

For the Saturday foursomes, which start at 12.05 UK time, the USA have put out all pairings that have played together so far in the Presidents Cup, while the International side have two new teams up against the Americans.
