US Open Qualifying: Results

US Open Final Qualifying: Find out who has qualified and who has missed out on qualifying for the 2018 US Open next week

With one event in England at Walton Heath and 10 events in locations around the USA, there were plenty of spots up for grabs for the second major of the year.

Adam Scott was one of the big stories heading in to qualifying, having failed by one place to qualify on World Ranking points and needing to perform well to ensure he didn't miss out playing in his first major since 2001. Under pressure, Scott was co-leader after the first round with a 66, and a second round 72 was enough to see him make it in to the field for the 2018 US Open.

Other names to make it through include Steve Stricker, Andrew 'Beef' Johnston, Shane Lowry, Keegan Bradley, Brian Gay, Patrick Rodgers, Harold Varner III, Ollie Schniederjans, Russell Knox, Aaron Baddeley and Aaron Wise.

But it was amateurs that made the biggest impact, with four amateurs taking five spots in California.

Walton Heath, UK (14 Spots Available)

England’s Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston and James Morrison set the bar high on a day full of low scores, qualifying in joint first-place on 10-under-par for the two rounds in Surrey. It was a congested leaderboard that needed a sudden death decider between nine players on 5-under, with Paul Waring gaining the 14th and final spot. Meanwhile, last week's Italian Open winner Thorbjorn Olesen also guaranteed his spot at Shinnecock with rounds of 67 and 71.
