Reports: Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka in post Ryder Cup bust up

Close friends Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka had to be separated after an argument in the European Team Room on Sunday, according to reports

According to witnesses cited in an article in The Telegraph, Johnson and Koepka had to be separated in their opponent’s team room just hours after their resounding 17.5-10.5 defeat to Europe in Paris.

While the source and reason of the near bust-up is unclear, it comes as quite a shock given that DJ and Koepka are often dubbed the ‘Bash Bros’ – while thought of as the best-of-friends, living close to each other and often working out together.

Johnson’s fiancee, Paulina Gretzky, was reported by ‘an insider’ to have been close to the incident and had been ‘clearly shocked and upset by the nastiness, which was very threatening’. According to The Telegraph, one of the European players’ wives was also a witness.

It’s not been a great couple of days for the U.S Ryder Cup team after their defeat in Paris. The latest incident follows Patrick Reed’s blame on Jordan Spieth for their pairing split as he called out ‘buddy system’ of the teamroom, as well as the tragic news that a fan has lost the sight in her right eye after being struck by Brooks Koepka’s golf ball.
