J.B Holmes pipped Justin Thomas to the Genesis Open title on Sunday: Here’s his winning bag

J.B. Holmes arrived at the Genesis Open ranked 202nd in SG: Putting on the PGA Tour, but turned it around to lead the field in those stats for the week with 111 putts using his Scotty Cameron 009M putter.

It made all the difference, leading him to beat out fellow Kentucky player Justin Thomas by one shot to earn his fifth PGA Tour title and first since the 2015 Shell Houston Open.

“We spent a lot of time this week with the coach (Matt Killen) and getting on the green and trying to find the right ball position and how it set up and putting through some gates, making sure I was starting the ball online,” Holmes said.

“In the morning we changed our routine, and we had a string and a mirror and just made sure that everything was dialed in, and then I could trust it and go out there and make confident strokes.”

Without an equipment contract, J.B. has a total of five brands in his bag. In addition to Callaway’s new Epic Flash Sub Zero driver, J.B. used a TaylorMade 3-wood, Srixon irons, Cleveland wedges and a Srixon golf ball.
