Video surfaces of Garcia throwing club at caddie during The Open

Sergio Garcia was captured throwing his driver over his shoulder at his caddie after hitting a bad tee shot on the 5th hole at Royal Portrush on Sunday.

Sergio Garcia was filmed by a spectator throwing his club in the direction of his caddie on Sunday at the Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

In this shocking video, which emerged on social media after the tournament, Garcia is shown throwing his driver over his shoulder without looking, drawing audible gasps from the crowd.

Garcia went on to make a double bogey at the 5th during a final-round 78, finishing in a tie for 67th place.

It’s another hit on Garcia’s reputation, following his disqualification earlier in the year for taking his anger on the greens at the Saudi International, as well as being shown hacking at the sand repeatedly in a fit of rage.

The video comes a few weeks after Matt Wallace was twice reprimanded for his behaviour, taking his frustration out on the green during the British Masters and taking his anger out on his caddie at the BMW International.

It led to coach Pete Cowen calling him an idiot and saying he deserved a ban.

“He deserves a ban,” Cowen had said. “It’s a form of cheating because you’re putting your opponent off.”

Wonder what he would say about this…
