With it being renowned as one of the hardest shots in golf, too many amateurs over-complicate their technique when attempting the 30-yard bunker shot. If you simplify your action with the advice from Andrew Murray in this video tip, your results will improve considerably.
The way you get the distance you require is to try and reduce the amount of sand you take. If you make a full swing with your 56-degree sand wedge and hit the sand an inch behind the ball, you’ve got the perfect combination for a 30-yard splash shot with enough initial elevation to get over most bunker lips.
