Missing short putts? Check your forearm alignment

Published:

Are you fed up of missing those short par putts that you have to make to keep your round going? It might not be your stroke that’s to blame, it could be the alignment of your forearms.

The forearms dictate the direction or path the putter head will take. If the forearms are aligned to the left, the likelihood it that the stroke will be out-to-in and the ball will miss to the left and vice versa for open forearm alignment.

A simple way to check the alignment of your forearms is to place a cane, club or old shaft to your forearms with elastic bands. As you look down, the cane should point parallel to target line, as Andrew Murray explains in this video tip.
