Freedom in your golf swing is crucial if you’re gain those extra yards off the deck with your irons! A common error among amateurs is to try and keep the left arm straight in the backswing to provide width. But as Today’s Golfer Elite coach Nick Clemens explains in this golf video tip, locking the left arm reduces wrist hinge which limits the amount of clubhead speed you can create.

The distance between the hands and chest needs to stay constant but you don’t have to sacrifice distance in order to maintain your consistency.
