Apr11 Jacklincomeback

Tony Jacklin, who does know what it takes to win a major championship, is making a comeback.

‘Jacko,’ Europe’s most successful Ryder Cup captain, is planning a surprise return to the pro game in the Bendinat London Seniors Masters at The London Club in Kent on June 22-24.

Jacklin’s last appearance on the European Seniors Tour was three years ago and the 62-year-old former British and US Open champion is eagerly looking forward to making his comeback with another ex-Ryder Cup captain – Sam Torrance – likely to be among the opposition.

Said Florida-based Jacko: “I always look forward to returning to England as it is my home and very dear to my heart. I plan to come over for three tournaments this year – The Open, The Senior Open and the London Seniors Masters.

“I recall opening The London GC with Jack Nicklaus and Seve Ballesteros so it will be lovely to go back there and play the course in a competitive format.”
