European’s reigning no. 1 golfer Padraig Harrington is the latest superstar to join our Fantasy League fun and games, following in the footsteps of the ever-blossoming Justin Rose.

And unlike Rose, Dubliner Harrington, one of the heroes of Europe’s Ryder Cup thrashing of America at the K Club last September, hasn’t selected himself in his six-man team though he will be relying heavily on world no. 1 Tiger Woods to keep delivering the goods.

Woods’ inclusion also means Harrington will be banking on lesser lights such as Ross Fisher and Jose Manuel Lara to spring a few surprises while hoping that promising Colombian Camilo Villegas can maintain his fine start to the campaign.

Harrington picked up his first European Order of Merit title in 2006 after pipping Englishman Paul Casey to the spoils after a thrilling climax to the season.

HOW TO PLAY

The game is simple to play. Register FREE by clicking here and you’ll be given a budget of $15 million, which you use to pick a team of six players from the European and US Tours from a price list on the website.

Budgets are reasonably tight – Tiger Woods is
$8 million, Vijay Singh $5.2 million, Ernie Els
$5 million – but not so restrictive that you need an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Tours’ lower reaches.

Once you’ve picked your team, your players will then earn points for any top 20 finishes they record in our 19 selected tournaments, between The Masters in April and the US PGA Championship in August.
